Apple betting blockchain decentralized security, applying blockchain timestamp patent

A new patent application from Apple, the technology giant in the United States, points to potential use cases where blockchains create and validate timestamps in a forward-looking system.

In a patent application released by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, Apple Inc details a plan that can be certified by combining aspects of blockchain technology with public key infrastructure tools Time stamp.

Apple's patent application describes three possible ways to build timestamps, one of which is around a blockchain platform.
