Samsung together with the Seoul government to create a blockchain platform


Samsung SDS, a subsidiary of South Korean electronics giant Samsung Group, said it is building a blockchain platform for the public sector.

According to the Korea Herald, Samsung SDS has partnered with the Seoul government of South Korea to work out an "information strategy" that will use the blockchain to support the capital's welfare, public safety and transportation.

Regarding this cooperation, Hong Won-pyo, chief executive of Samsung SDS, said:

"Samsung's blockchain technology and consulting capabilities will help Seoul to rise to a world-class city."
It is learned that the Seoul Metropolitan Government is currently seeking to use blockchain technology to improve transparency and to increase public-facing convenience.

It has been almost seven months since Samsung introduced Nexledger, a cloud-based, enterprise-class blockchain platform.
