Media: Bank of Russia banned Moscow Stock Exchange from trading bitcoin futures

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation did not allow the Moscow Stock Exchange to launch futures trading on bitcoins. This is reported by TASS with reference to two own sources at once.

"The Central Bank said that permission for this tool will not be given," the agency quotes sources as saying.
According to the interlocutor of the TASS, the Moscow stock exchange will not be able to launch such a tool until bitcoin and other crypto-currencies are regulated at the legislative level.

Comments of the CBR and the stock exchange itself has not yet been received.

The fact that the Moscow stock exchange wants to start trading bitcoin futures, it became known in September. The underlying asset, according to the idea of the exchange, was to become one of the indexes of bitcoin - for example, the index launched by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Bitcoin Index.
Earlier it was reported about Nasdaq's plans to launch a similar instrument, but on Thursday the head of this exchange Adena Fridman cooled the emerging speculation . At the same time, it is known that by the end of the year bitcoin futures should be launched on the largest North American stock exchange CME.
